Release of passport deposited in the public prosecution to bail a friend
I have submitted my passport to the Dubai public prosecution for my friend on a bounced cheque case and he didn't attend his hearing.
The judge announced a one-month sentence against him, and now I am unable to contact him and I don't know whether he is in the UAE or not.
How can I get my passport back because I want to travel home?
Is there any option to get my passport by paying a fine or any other possible option?

Dear Questioner,
Thank you for contacting me online.
Maybe you have kept your passport in the public prosecution at the time of availing a bail for your friend.
If your friend is available, he can appeal over the above judgment.
If you can arrange someone else's passport, an application can be submitted to the prosecution for replacing that passport with yours.
