Working with a company without a labour card

Hi Anita,

I was employed with my current company in April. I received the offer letter and began working at the company on April 30th.

Since then, I have been asking about my labour card (I am on my father's visa) and the company has been very vague. As of September 30th, I completed my probation as well having worked at the company for six months.

I have pay slips showing that the company has been paying me a salary. I have an official email with correspondence from the company owners and with other partners and suppliers. so I have a lot of physical evidence that I have been working here.

My question is, what can I do legally to ensure they offer me a labour card?

I want to know my legal rights and their consequences if they fail to follow through with this.

Appreciate your feedback.

Dear Questioner,

Thank you for getting in touch with me for your legal query.

The company has to give your work permit as soon as you start working with the company. You have successfully completed the probation also.

You can move legally to have your work permit done through labour.

If you need any kind of legal assistance please feel free to contact me on 0556635526.
