Questions & Answers
Can I refuse a transfer to a different location if my visa only lists one branch?
Dear Sir/Madam,
I currently work in a group of restaurants in the UAE, which are owned by different owners but have an overall founder. My visa was sponsored by one of the branch owners and only lists the location of one branch.
However, my sponsor wants to transfer me to work in another location that is not indicated on my contract or visa.
Is there any way that I can protect myself from having to leave?
Please help!
Dear Client,
Thanks for your question!
I hope you are doing well. I will definitely assist you in this matter.
Based on the information provided, if your visa and contract specify a specific location, your employer may not unilaterally transfer you to a different branch.
However, if it is from the same company under the same Trade License, then management can transfer you.
Please refer to your employment contract for more detailed information that should have been written on it.
