Dear Inquirer,

An employer is not allowed to deduct any amounts from an employee's salary without justification, such as a loan owed to the company or penalties signed against you.

However, deducting your salary without justification is illegal, and you have the right to file a complaint with MOHRE. The ministry will take the necessary actions in response to your complaint.

They mistakenly paid more amount of the bonus and then confirmed that the amount I received is correct.

Then now they are saying it was a mistake and they want to deduct it from my salary or from my last pay.

If it is determined by the company through official emails that you obtained the amount by mistake, then this amount is not rightfully yours, and they have the right to deduct it from you.
