Laws and regulations governing Franchise in the UAE

I have registered an FZE as an umbrella company, I intend to offer a membership for independent agencies/franchise-type structure.

What pitfalls should I be aware of?

Dear Questioner,

Please note that there is no special legislation for franchising in the UAE. General contract and commercial laws apply to franchise agreements.

The UAE law mandates that only UAE citizens or corporations wholly owned by UAE citizens or those with a UAE partner or sponsor are allowed to conduct operations.

However, you will need a much larger capital base to open in a free zone.

Thank You.
