Appealing court judgement in a cheque bounce case
We issued a cheque to someone and he endorsed cheque to a bank (discounting). The cheque bounced from the bank but we paid money to the endorser. The cheque now is in custody of the bank.
In the first judgement, there was punishment for one year and then we appealed. How should we protect ourselves from the judgment?

Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for getting in touch with me on this.
Please note that we will first need to see the first court judgement and thereafter we can advise you what grounds or point of law you should incorporate to reverse the judgement or avoid the imprisonment.
Of course, the point regarding the payment made to the endorser can be a good and valid ground as a defence.
Please send me the first court judgement on hari@alnassaradvocates.com and thereafter, I will be in a better position to assist you.
