Selling a property co-owned by grandparents after grandmother passed away
Hi,
I need some advice regarding an inheritance matter.
My grandfather and grandmother are Muslims. They lived in London but co-owned property in Dubai. My grandmother passed away without a will. My grandfather wants to bring her half of the property shares under his name so the new title deed only has his name on it so he can sell it.
The documents I have are:
- POA from my grandfather (attested).
- Grandmother's death certificate (attested).
- Passport copies for all heirs.
What other documents do I require? Or is this enough to go through inheritance court and sell?
Kind Regards,

Dear questioner,
The power of attorney that was sighed up by the grandmother during her life expired with her death.
A declaring inheritance certificate must be made, and then proceed with registering the ownership of the property in the name of the grandfather.

Hi
As you are a Muslim, Sharia law will be implemented for dividing the assets.
So, all the passport copies of the beneficiaries will be required, and also an undertaking stating that there are no other beneficiaries apart from the names you have provided to the court.
