Can I use my vacation for the notice period upon resignation?
If the contract says 60 days notice period, and if one resigns just before the summer holidays (i.e. approx 50 days) will this count as notice period?
This is about a teacher in a Dubai-based school.

With reference to your inquiry, kindly be informed that as per the UAE Federal Labor Law, you shall serve (i.e. attend at your workplace) during the whole notice period, thus, you can't just resign before your vacation if the period prior to the said vacation is less than the notice period agreed upon, since the absent days don't count.
The only exception in that regard is that your employer gives you a written letter stating that they don't have you to attend after the 50 days. That will safeguard your rights by all means.
