The timeframe for issuing an employment visa in the UAE

Hi,

A friend of mine (Now In India) applied for a job in a UAE company and he received the offer letter. He also submitted a signed JOC (Job offer certificate) before one month, but still did not receive the employment visa.

When I called the Company HR department, he told me that the visa is under process and the current status is under security approval.

My question is what's the security approval and how many days does it take for security approval? And when will he receive the visa?

Dear Questioner,

Your inquiry is quite common. Nobody can tell you exactly how long it will take to proceed with a new visa, because everything is happening through an online application.

First, you need to consider the fact that for some free zone authorities the process is longer than for a mainland Company.

The security approval is actually the Criminal Investigation Department approval - all new employees are checked before receiving a visa.

The approval shall take between 1 week and 2 months - depends on their procedure and the information found by them.

Thank you.

Good Morning,

Thanks for your reply.

I said applied for an employment visa, not a free zone. It's a construction company.

He also signed the JOC submitted one month before, but the HR department always says the visa process is under security clearance.

I want to know what's the security clearance. The UAE authorities take clearance from the Indian embassy, why another procedure?

After security clearance, how many days before we receive the employment visa?
