Getting stopped or arrested in Abu Dhabi for a debt in Oman

Hi,

I hope you can give me advice. I worked in Oman from 2012 and had to return to South Africa in 2013 for personal reasons.

I still had a credit card, car debt, and retail debt in Oman that is not paid. My wife just got a job offer in Abu Dhabi.

If I accompany my wife to the UAE, do I stand the risk of being stopped or arrested in Abu Dhabi for my debt in Oman?

Kind Regards,

Hi sir,

If there has been any case filed in Oman for default of all the loans and credit cards, you might get arrested in any of the gulf airports.

So, it is advisable to first check if there is any case in your name in Oman and what the judgment is.

Hi Shamsa,

Thank you for your response!

Is it possible for you to check if there are any cases in my name and if so, what will be the cost for this service?

Kind Regards,

Hi sir,

We have access limited only to the UAE. For Oman, you need to contact a local law firm there.
