Claiming entitlements from the employer upon resignation

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have been working in a Dubai free zone company for the last 3 years as a security guard. For almost 1 year, I have been working without any days off.

It is mentioned in my contract that I have to work 48 hours a week and 3 hours fixed overtime.

But after working for 1 year continuously, they started to give us 2 days off for 2 years. Now, I resigned from the company.

The end of service department has told me that they'll not give me that overtime.

So can you guide me how can I get my overtime?

Thank you

I hope you are doing fine.

With reference to your question, kindly be advised that you can go to the court and open a labour case to claim your entitlements.

Furthermore, from your query, I can understand that you have also worked for three years with the company.

Therefore, you can also claim your end of service gratuity (if not yet paid) as you are also entitled to it under the law.

Should you require further clarification, do not hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Aws M. Younis

Thanks for replying to my question.

Sir, even my visa has already expired on 7 July till now they have not done anything.

So please, can you tell me what to do because according to the UAE law after my visa has expired I have only 28 days to stay here. After this time, I have to pay penalties.

So what should I do?

Please guide.

And can you please tell me where is the free zone labour department in Dubai?

Thank you
