Q: How long can the police hold a passport (for inquiry) and travel ban without opening a case?
The case is a breach of trust.
Can you request the police to transfer the case to a public prosecutor since in my case the investigation is open for more than a month?

Retrieving passport from the court after being found not guilty
0
Q: Dear Sir,
My brother was involved in an incident at his company that claimed two lives (the victims died in a sewage tank).
During this process, my brother happened to be a safety officer in that company but the supervisor and the managers assigned those workers who died during the cleaning of the sewage tank without informing the safety department.
During the police investigation, my brother's passport was seized by the police and the case was referred to public prosecution.
After the final investigation, my brother (safety officer) was not guilty as the public prosecutor decided, but the supervisor was guilty since he gave the order to those workers to carry out the unsafe work without informing the safety department for proper risk assessment.
The supervisor was given a 5-month jail term. Concerning my brother, his case ended at the public prosecution office since he was not guilty, but since then, his passport is still held with the court.
Please, I need advice.
Thanks
Taka Farhad

Is it possible to replace my passport in a traffic case to be able to travel?

1
Q: Hi there,
I currently have a traffic case in the investigation status against me for driving without a license, causing damage to another person's property and driving a vehicle without permission (my wife's car).
I fully accept the charges against me. I urgently need to travel to my home country by 11 May and my wife will remain in the UAE.
Kindly advise if it is possible to lift the travel ban and have my wife as the guarantor for when the fine is issued.
Thanks

Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
I have a criminal case in Dubai that was closed after discussions with the applicant.
However, the police officer took my phone when I went to the police station for the first time.
He said that my phone would be returned to me soon after the case was closed, but I am still waiting. What can I do now?

Can we claim and sell a liquidated customer’s goods to recover debts through Dubai Courts? 0
Hello,
Our customer has gone into liquidation, and we are shipping goods to Saudi Arabia. We have stopped the shipment and requested payment of their outstanding balance.
How can we request to take ownership of their goods to sell in order to recover our outstanding invoices? Is this possible in Dubai Courts?

I purchased an apartment, but the previous landlord refuses to vacate. What to do? 0
Hello,
I bought an apartment, but the previous landlord is refusing to vacate it. The contract clearly states that the landlord should hand over the apartment on the day of the transfer.
Out of courtesy, I gave him three days to vacate so he could find a new place to stay, but the time has passed, and he is still refusing to vacate and hand it over.
What should I do in this case?

My hair was damaged by a very known and professional salon. Can I seek refund and compensation? 0
Hello.
I went to a very well-known and professional salon (or so I thought) for a normal hair dye. The guy who did my hair left the dye on my hair for over an hour when it was supposed to be on for a maximum of 30 minutes.
He wasn’t paying attention to me walking around the store talking to everyone and also doing another customer's extensions.
Now my hair is potentially damaged, my skull burns, and is flaky (meaning the dye wasn’t ammonia-free which is extremely unprofessional for such an expensive salon).
I didn’t even get the outcome that I wanted and the dye color doesn’t even show. I talked to him about it but he shut it down so fast and gaslit me the whole time and made me feel like I was the wrong one and I was ‘complaining about something so light’.
Please let me know what I can do legally about this.
Thank you.
