Q: Hi, I joined a DMCC company 1 month ago and there is a misunderstanding between me and my employer with respect to my job description which I clearly told them that I cannot do. The company is asking me to resign and pay an amount of AED 15000 for my visa and medical flight charges, etc in spite of holding my salary. They are also asking me to submit my passport, otherwise, they will take legal action. Should I compensate them if I wish to resign? Kindly help me!

Q: I had signed an unlimited contract with a Dubai based company. In the offer letter, I was given a designation as Business Manager with salary AED 30,000/month. However, in the MOHRE contract, my designation is showing Sales Executive having 4th/5th level skill. When I inquired from them, they told me that the designation in MOHRE contract will not have any adverse effect during my stay in Dubai and they have mentioned 4th/5th level skill in the contract because my certificates ( B Tech ) are not HRD attested ( in India ) and they will not be able to wait for long for this attestation. My questions are:- a) Is this procedure legal i.e. getting a person of Engineering degree in 4th/5th level skill set? b) Will it be possible to change the skill level in MOHRE contract if I get my degree attested by HRD and UAE consulate after I land in Dubai? c) What are the possible issues that I will face?

Q: Hi Mrs Khan, I have recently received a job offer, I have two questions in regards to that. 1. The designation mentioned in my offer letter is "Engineer", but in the MOL contract it's mentioned as "Sales Representative". After contacting the HR of the company for clarification, they told me that due to Emiratisation and quick approvals they are issuing "Sales Representative" visa and after 6 months or a year, I can reproach them and get the designation in the MOL changed. My question here, is it possible to amend the designation in the labour contract in the future and how easy or difficult this process is? What are the disadvantages I may face (if any) of having a "Sales Representative" visa? 2. I have signed the MOL and send it to the company, but it's been 7 working days and I am still waiting for work permit approval, isn't this quite slow for a work permit approval?
