How to claim an invoice from a client living in Dubai from abroad?

I am from Canada and have a client in Dubai who owes me CAD 12,000 for over 6 months and is no longer answering emails.

I have video recordings and emails admitting to her debt and promising to pay. What are my options here?

Thank you!

Dear Sir,

My name is Dr. Saeed Al Ali (Lawyer and Legal counsel in SBSADV.com). We handled many cases here in UAE with similar facts and the winning rates of such cases are very high.

We suggest that the best option is to send a Judicial Claim letter and to wait for 5 days minimum after her receipt of the letter.

This letter has legal requirements that are specified in the law and it should be drafted well or it will cause losing the case later.

After the 5 days period, we can head to the court and register a case against her, the court will try to settle and if no settlement was reached, the court will order her to pay the claimed amounts.

After the order (judgment) we will request for the execution of that order (judgment) and will open the execution file and follow up with the execution judge.

Note: not only the demand letter should be drafted well, but also the memos submitted to the court and the execution judge should be specific or it will cause a refusal of the case.

There will be court fees that the execution judge will require your client to pay. We can also ask for interest if the delay caused any damage to you.

I will be happy to draft all of these memos and letters and submit them on your behalf and will follow up with all courts until you get your right.

In order to do that, we will need a Power of Attorney (we can help on that also) to represent you here in the UAE.

Wish my answer helped you to understand the procedures here in UAE, and awaiting your response.
