Q: Dear Sir/ Madam, I would like to have an advice about a bounced cheque. I got a cheque against my pending salary from the company where I used to work before in Dubai. However, the cheque bounced and I filed a complaint at the police station. I was expecting a reply from the police station, as per my knowledge. Yesterday, the company owner called me and said that the police had arrested him and he has paid the fine, so the case is dismissed. I would like to know if I need to file a civil case now or I have to wait till I get a reply from the police in order to recover my money. For the civil case, where and how can I file the complaint? Claiming the bounced cheque amount after criminal court judgement

Q: For a 100,000 bounced cheque, the decision from the criminal court is 20,000 fine and pay the full amount. My question is that, before the civil case is made, does the travel ban still exist or it's removed after the sentence from the criminal court? Should an agreement be made between two parties to avoid the civil case (need to pay to the civil court)? Is the fee of making a civil case required to be paid by the people who made the bounced cheque?

Hi, I need some guidance regarding a property transaction that is not progressing as expected. My broker initiated a manual Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between me (the Buyer) and the Seller, with an expiry date of 01/02/2025. Within this period, I successfully arranged the bank mortgage, property evaluation, and NOC. However, the broker started giving excuses, such as the seller being hospitalized. Later, the broker attempted to arrange a Power of Attorney (POA). However, after that, they started ignoring my messages and calls. It now seems like they no longer intend to proceed with me, and the MOU has already expired. Meanwhile, my bank EMI has already started, and I have paid two monthly installments. The broker is still unresponsive. I have raised multiple complaints through DLD RVS against the broker, but the response has been very slow and unsatisfactory. I’m feeling stuck and financially burdened. Please advise

Hey, I'm building my house in Dubai, and it was going well. I gave the contractor 420k as a first payment, and we both agreed that the rest would be in installments. Just two months ago, the contractor went off the grid, and I can't find him.
