Q: I was working in a company for 1 year and 10 months. My visa is about to expire; in July.
My contract is limited. I got a job offer in another Emirate. I requested my employer for resignation. In the beginning, he accepted and hired another employee, but lastly, he did not accept my resignation.
I told him that I will serve 1 month notice period and I am willing to pay 45 days salary. Now, he is threatening me that he will block my visa.
I want to know if there is a possibility of blocking my visa.
Please clarify this situation and I want to know the rights.

Q: I am working now as a Data Entry Clerk/Medical Transcriptionist in Dubai in a free zone company for more than 2 years under an unlimited contract.
I finished the contract of 2 years (limited contract) and renewed for another year in which it became unlimited. I sent my resignation in July 2019 with a notice period of 1 month, but my employer rejected it.
On 24 October 2019, I sent my resignation again, and he rejected it again saying that he did not receive the letter and accidentally saw it when he came, as he is out of the country.
I am sending my resignation through email as my employer is not usually coming to the office and it is impossible for him not to receive it as my second resignation was twice and the PRO confirmed that he received it as I put him in CC.
What should I do? And how can I respond to my employer?

Q: I got a job offer from another company and resigned from my current company, giving a notice period of 30 days.
The employer refused to accept my resignation and stated that they will not be cancelling my visa due to COVID-19 issues since they cannot hire anyone else (This is just an excuse they are making).
I wish to join the new company, and I want to know:
1. How can I get my visa cancelled if the employer refuses, without the delays of weeks and months in the courts?
2. How to start working for the new employer in case the current does not cancel the visa, so I don’t lose the job offer?
3. How long does the permit process take?

Q: Dear Sir,
I've been working in a trading company under an unlimited contract for the last 10 months.
My contract which we both signed clearly mentioned that there will be 1 month notice period when I give my resignation.
I got a better job offer and now my employer is telling me that I can't step out of the premises without completing 2 months notice period and he is holding my passport too.
Could you please suggest to me what I can do?

Resignation refused. How to join a new employer?

Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
Currently, I have been working at a private hospital for the past month. I recently received a job offer letter from a government hospital. Consequently, I submitted my resignation letter, effective immediately.
However, they are not accepting my resignation and have threatened to file a case against me for absconding if I don't report for duty.
I attempted to contact the HR department, but unfortunately, the HR representative is on leave, and no one else is addressing my situation.
I would appreciate your assistance and advice in this matter.

What is the procedure for accepting a new job offer while currently employed?
Also, legally speaking, should one accept a MOHRE contract or a company contract?
Some suggest that when currently employed, a new company cannot provide a MOHRE contract until the visa cancellation is complete and the notice period has been served.

I am resigning from my company after working for 3 years. I signed another contract after the first 2 years were completed.
I was under the impression that the entire time my contract was unlimited but now I am being told that it was changed to limited.
Not only was this done without my knowledge but I am now being told that legally I am not entitled to ANY gratuity after 3 years because I am resigning before my 2 years is finished. Is this legal?

I am an employee working here in Dubai, UAE for 10 months now.
I'm planning to file a leave for 2 days, however, my colleague informed me that as per the company policy, they consider it as absent then I will get a full basic + accommodation only.

My new employer renewed my ID and visa. The only thing is that when my Emirates ID and visa were done, they didn't show me any contract nor did I sign it.
They didn't provide me with a copy of it. So I want to ask if I can complain regarding this matter?
