Q: Hi,
My mother was visiting Dubai and she slipped and fell as she stepped outside my sister's apartment.
The floor outside the apartment was slippery and wet, the cleaners had removed the mat at the entrance of the door and failed to dry the floor or put any warning signs in that area.
My mother suffered severe injuries, most serious being a fracture at the neck of the femur, which required a surgery. She did not have travel insurance.
I approached the facilities management company about this, and they got the cleaning contractor to settle the hospital bill.
However, my mother has a permanent rod and screw holding her hip and femur together and will never be the same again, so I want to claim compensation.
Do I have a case to claim compensation for personal injury?
Who is at fault, the facilities management company or the cleaning company who provides the cleaning service on their behalf?
Both companies have been ignoring my letters about compensation.

Q: I was involved in a car crash in my immediate line manager's car in Abu Dhabi.
We were stationary at lights when a second vehicle drove at speed into the back of the car, I was thrown violently forwards and cried out in pain when the seat belt restricted my forward movement and my neck made a cracking noise.
The traffic police attended and called for an ambulance to take me to the emergency hospital for investigation and treatment. I was strapped to a spine board with my neck held in a brace.
I was x-rayed and examined by the doctors and was told I had torn muscle tissue in my neck, for this injury they gave me medication that the company paid for.
Eventually, my condition worsened and after an MRI scan, it was found that further injuries had been sustained. The police report made no mention of my injuries, yet the hospital report said the police had sent me and that I was injured.
The third party insurers decline any responsibility as no injury was mentioned in the police report.
What can I do?

Can I travel to my country for vacation after finishing a case and paying fine?

1
Q: Good day Sir/Mam
I have a question.
We/I have been involved in a fight last week, and the police arrested us.
After a week in jail, the Abu Dhabi first instance court released a paper for our fine which we already paid, then we were just released.
My questions are:
Is there a possibility that I can use my vacation to my country?
Is there another hearing session happening after we pay the fine?
Or is there another thing I need to do so I can leave the country temporarily because of my vacation is coming?
Thank you in advance.

Personal injury involves an injury sustained physically, emotionally and mentally. The injured person is entitled to claim damages where he has suffered an injury due to the other person’s wrongdoing. The victim may file a case against the person, who is found guilty in a criminal case or his insurance company if the defaulter has secured himself by insurance. The UAE civil law allows filing a compensation claim for injury damages.

Dear sir/madam,
I had signed a labor contract with the Ministry of Labour which had no "non-compete" clause.

Canceling my MoU and getting my deposit back due to a low bank valuation and overpriced property 0
Hi,
I wanted to purchase a 2-bedroom apartment in JVC Dubai. I gave a 10% security deposit cheque to the seller. The price mentioned in the MoU is very high compared to other similar apartments in the same building.
The bank’s valuation also came in very low. Since the valuation is much lower, how can I terminate the MoU and get my cheque back? The MoU ends on 1st October 2024.
One of the articles in the MoU states:
In the event that the Buyer fails to make the payments as agreed or fails to complete the transfer on the agreed date due to his own acts or omissions, the Seller has the right to terminate this agreement and retain the deposit, provided that the termination is due to a violation of the agreed terms, unless both parties agree amicably to different dates.
I need help urgently.
