I am the owner of an automotive garage in the UAE. I have a customer who has an outstanding bill and has not collected their vehicle yet.
Every time the customer claims they will come to collect their vehicle and close their outstanding payments, they end up lying and ignoring calls for weeks.
Is there any form of legal action I can take or a way I can legally possess the vehicle after a certain time period?

View allWhen to claim an inheritance in Dubai while being abroad and which law is applied ? 0
Dear sir/madam,
I would like someone to be honest with me. I am in the UK. How long have I got to claim inheritance in Dubai?
I was reading in the Gulf News that the laws of the country of the deceased at the time of death can be applied regarding the will.
Is this true or false? I am really looking for these two questions to be answered first. Can anyone help me with this, please?

Is it possible to apply a will issued in South Africa in the UAE? 0
Dear questioner,
My father (Muslim) has passed away in South Africa. He leaves behind 4 children, his wife (our mother) and his own mother.
He had a will for South Africa in which, I (oldest son) am executor. The will does state that it encompasses all property and assets wherever they may be.
He has various properties and assets in the UAE. My questions are:
1. Does his will have power in the UAE or will it be divided by Sharia?
2. What documents are required to wind up his estate?
3. What is the wind-up process within the UAE?

How can we access the bank account of a deceased person? 0
My uncle died 2 weeks ago in one of the private hospitals here in Dubai.
We have already completed everything regarding the repatriation of his body with the help of his employer and his remains are already sent back to our home country last week.
He used to give me an access of his ATM card before and I tried to access it just few days ago and I found out that there is some amount of money left on his bank account.
I am aware that he has some pending bank loan requests before he died, so I am afraid that amount might be the reason of such big amount.
Being the only family member of my deceased uncle, what should I do in order to make sure that the amount is from his savings and not from his bank loans?
In case the amount is proved to be his own savings, is there any chance for me to get the authorization to claim that amount from the bank to be used by his family?
He has a wife with 3 kids back home.
Thanks a lot in advance.

View allA client cancels the contract and refuses to pay. What to do? 0
Dear sir/madam,
We were contacted by a large firm in the UAE. We agreed, put a contract, and got an LPO from a client. It was a 6-week project.
We started & followed all the processes, got approvals for each task as per the approved project plan, did revisions they requested. For a few items, we needed the client's feedback or inputs but they didn't provide them at all.
For 4 weeks, we sent reminders, calls, emails. No response or updates. It was affecting us; 6 weeks is over.
Today, we got an email saying they are canceling the PO and not paying at all. The PO clearly states "partial payment" is included. Our contract states delays caused by clients are their fault and are payable. We have full proof of work, emails & records.
We want to take legal action and get compensation for all work done, delays, time wasted, and damages as we had to stop other work.
Please advise!

Resignation from a Freezone company and paying compensation 0
Hello,
I would like to seek your advice regarding my situation. I have recently resigned from a Freezone company. I have a Fujairah visa. I was able to complete my first contract of 3 years.
This year, I have renewed my contract and after 6 months, I decided to resign. I've completed my render period of 30 days.
Now, my boss is telling me that in lieu of my contract termination, I am not entitled to receive gratuity and cannot encash my unused leaves as I have to payback my visa renewal and medical fees including the cancellation.
He also mentioned that I am reliable for the "early termination compensation" which means I have to pay half of three months salary and allowances. I have tried to call MOHRE but they said that Freezone is not part of their scope.

How to check possible issues for improper company closure before returning to Dubai 0
I have a company in Dubai. There is a partnership firm. My wife was very ill and I went to India, so my partners were running the business secretly.
They don't inform me about any matter so we decided to cancel our partnership. But I can't go to Dubai due to the Corona situation. I am in India for the past 8 months.
I just contact my friend in Dubai. He told me that my partners canceled their partnership in the old company and started a new firm.
Is there any problem to come to Dubai on a visit visa to search for a new job?
