Consequences of resigning from a limited contract to take another offer

Greetings Madam,

I am working as a security guard in Abu Dhabi and I got a new offer letter from another company as a client recommend me.

I am working with my company for 3 years on a limited period contract, and I renewed my visa last December 2020.

Now I want to resign from my current employer.

Can I do it? What can be the issue if I want to leave?

Dear questioner,

As per the UAE labor law, you will be liable to pay compensation to your employer which shall be equal to your 45 days salary. The chances of imposing a ban on you are unlikely to happen.

If your contract specifies any notice period, please serve the notice period after serving resignation.

Otherwise, you will be liable to pay compensation in lieu of the notice period as well.
