The time frame of a mutually agreed divorce
I am an expatriate. My wife and I agreed mutually to divorce and we have a child also, which my wife wants to keep and I agreed to that.
How much time will it take to get a divorce? Will it be through Dubai Courts?

Dear Questioner,
Since it is a mutual divorce, it won't take much time. The jurisdiction of the Court would depend on where you or your wife reside currently.
You can contact us on the phone to discuss this in detail.

Dear Questioner,
If you are Muslim, then you need to file your divorce case through the Dubai Court.
In regards to the time frame, if you both agreed on the divorce terms, you should receive your final judgment between 1 month and 2 months.

A mutual consent divorce can take a time frame of 4 weeks - 6 weeks as it is uncontested, and if both parties have agreed to the terms and conditions of their divorce settlement. You will have to submit a divorce application to the Family Guidance Committee.
Even though it is uncontested, the conciliatory procedure is a mandatory process of divorce proceedings in the UAE. Parties are allowed to raise their concerns pertaining to the marriage in the absence of their respective legal representatives.
Uncontested divorces can be concluded at this stage. Parties will need to draft a settlement based on the parties’ mutual understanding and sign it before the conciliator.
