The effect of non-competition agreement on the employee to work for a former client

I have an offer from our old client whose contract ended 5 years ago to join; can I join them?

In my labor contract, it's stated that I cannot join the company's client till 2 years post resignation or termination.

Kindly advise

Dear Questioner,

From your message, I understood that you want to join one company that was a client of your current employer, but they stopped collaboration 5 years before you joined the company.

If this is the case, then there shouldn't be any issues. However, I need to study the non-competition agreement that you signed with your current employer and see what the conditions of non-competition are.

Please feel free to send me a copy of the non-competition agreement to my email with a brief of your case.

Thank you!

Best Regards,
