Is it mandatory to have an Emirati partner to establish a mainland LLC company?

Hello there,

I want to open an LLC company in Abu Dhabi with 2 GCC nationals (each one of them with 50% shares) among 2 GCC.

I want to make one person from the GCC a manager as well. Is it possible?

Is it allowed to open LLC company without UAE local partner?

Hello,

Regarding your question, it depends on what kind of company.

Companies in Free Zones in Abu Dhabi do not need to have a local partner in which you can hire any manager you need without restrictions.

On the other hand, a mainland company can carry out business across the UAE but permits maximum foreign shareholder equity capped at 49%.

Yes, according to the latest decisions issued, which will be implemented from the first of June, you can open a company without an Emirati sponsor.
