The non-compete clause in case of working in a different field

As per our understanding, you need to check the clause of the contract which you signed with your company.

If it does not allow you to work with another company or in another field, then you cannot work anywhere else.

The courts are very conservative about the non-competition clause which should be reasonably limited with a certain period of time and limited territory.

In your case and if you are working in a different field that causes no harm, damage, or loss of opportunities to the ex-employer, their case is weak.
