Fake university degrees

Over 2 years ago I was awarded degrees from a university in the USA based on my experience. As the process continued I suspected they were fake so I tried to stop the process.

In the last 2 weeks I am receiving calls from people claiming to be from Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Education in Abu Dhabi saying I am in trouble and the call always ends up with the university demanding money to complete the attestation process. I do not want these degrees and have never used them.

If I report this to the UAE Authorities, will I get myself in trouble? I am worried.

As long as you do not use the fake degrees you are not in trouble. Just ignore the ones who want to attest a fake degree. Attesting fake degree is an offense and not the other way round ie. not attesting a degree real or fake.

Best regards

Ok, thanks.

I am receiving phone calls from people in the UAE Foreign Affairs. Should I ignore them as well? They say they have a file on me and are quite aggressive on the phone.

Is there any way to check if a file actually exists?

Did you submit any of the fake degrees to the Ministry?

I didn't submit anything personally but part of the package they offered was full Attestation. At this point, they have been phoning me to get me to agree to submission which I have not agreed to. The file they are referring to is about equalisation.

I'd be happy to pay for an hour of your time to explain the situation fully and get a legal view on the whole thing. I have potential evidence that the UAE Embassy stamps are fake and they currently hold all these documents with my name on them. I'm concerned that they might submit on my behalf regardless of what I say on the phone. I have never physically been to the MoE or MoFA. It's all been over the phone.
