Q: I would like to know if the actions of my employer are eligible.
I have been working for the company for more than 3 years. I got pregnant a few months back and I informed the management of my company about this.
I have been told that I can't go on maternity leave and I should submit my resignation letter asap, otherwise, the employer is going to terminate me with a ban or something like this, they did not clarify.
I do not want to lose the job. I just want to know if the law protects me in this situation.

Harassment by the employer for submitting maternity leave
1
Q: I told my employer I was pregnant (I have been with the company for nearly 3 years).
My boss told me not to return after the baby is born and also said that I should leave before my maternity leave. I told them it's my right to stay/choose.
Since that day my boss has harassed and bullied me at work. I raised a formal complaint against him.
However, the company are supporting him saying it never happened as they don't want to be liable.
I am now signed off work sick because of the abuse/treatment at work that ended up with me nearly having a miscarriage.
If I resign, I lose my 3 years EOSB, my medical and visa. But if I stay, I am subjected to daily harassment.
What legal rights to do I have?

What can you do if the employer is pressuring you to resign because you are pregnant?

2
Q: Hi,
My wife is nearly 4 months into a new job. We are expecting our first child and her work found out about this recently.
Not long after finding out, her line manager made a fuss about how many weeks her maternity leave will be and what it will cost the company, and how much inconvenience it will cause (though we have no evidence of this conversation).
Today she was pressurized to resign, being told "we don't think this job is your thing". She was accused of messing up the job, but when she challenged for evidence they had none.
We strongly suspect this is mostly down to her being pregnant. She has been working for 4 years in her industry in the UAE (6 years in total) and has never been terminated from previous jobs.
She is still on probation. What can she do to avoid termination if they decide to make up reasons for firing her?

Terminated from job due to pregnancy, what can I do?

1
Q: Hello Sir,
I am a doctor and was working at a clinic. I am expecting a baby and am 9 months pregnant.
My company terminated me due to my pregnancy, and I filed a complaint with MOHRE.
The judge ruled that my termination was not illegal and that I would not receive compensation.
What should I do now?

What compensation can I expect if I resign or am terminated as a pregnant teacher?

1
Q: Hello,
What can I expect my employer to offer if they ask me to resign or terminate my contract?
I am a married teacher, 4 months pregnant, with a recently signed contract until August 2026. They say I did not achieve the rating the school wanted, which is true.
I don’t want to fight legally; I just want to leave and go home for the peace and health of myself and my baby.

Calculation of gratuity when the current salary is not the same as the salary in the contract 0
My employer put my salary in the agreement as 800 AED since 2012 and still the same. But, my present salary is 2000 AED.
Q1: How they will pay my gratuity if I cancel my visa from the company? According to my agreement salary or my present salary?
Q2: If they hold my passport after canceling my visa, then what can I do?
Requesting your help in answering these 2 questions.

Filing a complaint against a company after withdrawing a job offer 0
I signed an offer letter and a copy of a contract in a company located in Dubai Design District.
I resigned from my current company located in Jebel Ali and will be ending my noticed period on April 4, 2021.
Now the new company is really unclear about when I can start joining them. If the company does not pursue my hiring, but I have already resigned and lost my job, are there any legal complaints and claims I can file?

The consequences of changing the nationality of an ex-pat 0
I have a working visa in the UAE. I have decided to apply for an EU passport.
Once I receive it, I need to surrender my original passport to the consulate since my country does not allow dual nationality.
I will be informing my company HR about this. I would like to know:
1. Can the company terminate me since I have joined under a different nationality?
2. What will happen to my end-of-service benefits?
3. Do I have to undergo a medical test, get a new Emirates ID, update my bank accounts, phone registration, and other documentation?
4. Anything else to be done?

The rights and obligations of a freelancer regarding gratuity and non-competition 0
Good afternoon.
The company terminated my unlimited full-time employment contract after 3 years, so not renewing my visa. I am working on my own visa now and continue as a freelancer.
But they want me to sign their freelance/consultancy agreement with a clause that I am not allowed to work for any of their competitors (but they don't provide me with a visa, medical, no benefits, even not giving me enough working hours).
1) Is it legal to ask a freelancer for this exclusivity?
2) How I can be a freelancer and not allowed to work for other companies?
3) What shall I do if I still want to continue working with them but need other jobs in other companies to have enough income to pay my bills?
4) Am I entitled to gratuity? Because they didn't mention it.
Thank you
