The rights of an employee upon termination due to redundancy
Hello,
I have been working in a company for 7 years and 8 months. Last week, I was told that due to redundancy, they don't require my services.
I am asked to serve a four-month notice period and not eligible for any compensation since they gave me a four-month notice period. My contract is a limited contract so my question is: is that legal?
Am I entitled to more than one salary due to redundancy?
Do I have to work for the notice?
Thank you!

Dear questioner,
To be able to advise you accordingly, I must have a look at your employment contract.
The maximum notice period can be up to 3 months.
Generally, an employee who is not the one terminating the employment contract must be paid during his notice period and receive the end of service benefits, untaken leave days, etc.
Based on the fact that you have already served more than 5 years, your end of service should be 30 days of the basic salary for every year of service.
