Governing law of the nursing profession in the UAE

The UAE Nursing and Midwifery Council (UAE NMC) regulates the nursing and midwifery professions, promotes and advances nursing and midwifery services and to protect and promote the health and safety of the public based on the highest standards. (UAE Ministers’ Cabinet Resolution 10, 2009).

However, Health Policies and Standards Department​ is responsible to develop, update and follow up the implementation of health sector regulation and policies for the licensure of healthcare facilities and professionals and the governance systems of the healthcare services in the emirate of Dubai in line with federal and local laws and health planning.
