The punishment of attempting suicide in the UAE law

According to the Penal code of UAE Article 335, whoever attempts to commit suicide shall be subject to a jail sentence for a minimum period of six months and/or to a fine in excess of five thousand Dirhams.

Whoever abets another or assists him to commit suicide in any manner whatsoever, if it occurs thereupon, shall be subject to a jail sentence.

But recently, news was published in media regarding changes of this article that the person will not be punished and will be sent for rehabilitation and medical treatment.
