Recovery of end of service benefits

I worked for a DIFC company for a year. The company went into liquidation and since that time (2009) I was not able to get my end of service benefits (AED 60,000).

I am contacting the liquidator, sending emails every now and then, but most of the time no answer or the same answer "There is no update, we are trying to sell the company assets. We will update you soon..."

How can I recover that money?

Please advise.

Dear Sir,

We need certain facts and information. An employee who has registered his case within the limitation period, upon the sale of assets, the first payment will be for employee's dues. Many times, the sale by auction or sale procedure takes a very long time due to lack of potential buyer or due to attachment of assets by the banks.

Hi Nikhat,

Thank you for your response.

So, what do you advise me to do now, shall I just wait?

Best.

Hi,

You have to wait. If you are a registered creditor (as an employee) in the liquidation process, you will get your dues upon sale/buy out or auction.

With best regards,

Nikhat
