The legal way of notifying the tenant about the 10% rent increase

I am a landlord who sent a notarized legal notice to my tenant for a 10% rent increase in accordance with RERA calculations.

The notice was sent to the tenant residence address via ARAMEX 4 months before the contract expiry date. I have a receipt for the delivery.

Is my action legally sound and do I need to do anything else?

Dear Questioner,

Please note that we can advise you only after reviewing the tenancy contract as it might include other terms to regulate such procedure.

However, as an initial review of the facts, you have followed the correct path to notify the tenant of the rental increase.

On the other hand, you should check the terms of the rental agreement to see what should the tenant do in case he would like to renew or notify you to vacate the unit.

If you wish to send us the tenancy contract to review and advise accordingly you can contact me through ae@elnaggarlegal.com

Best regards,
