Q: Hello,
I have left the UAE 1 year ago and I had an outstanding loan in CBD. I would like to know if and how much I should cover.
If I do, will be the police case removed? Will I be able to travel to GCC countries again?
Thank you

Is there a legal way to avoid imprisonment if the court passed a sentence upon me?
3
Q: Hi ,
I left UAE during the financial crisis 2009 because I got laid back by my employer and I could not pay back my bank loan. The bank collection agents contacted me few times but I couldn't reach an agreement with them as I am facing financial difficulties as a single parent for 2 kids currently not working.
l want to go back to UAE for a job offer. A friend checked for me with Immigration and Court. They found that there is a judgement in absentia of 6 months under my name and case filed requesting the amount of the loan plus the interest which I can not afford paying a single portion of it.
Is there a legal solution to sort this out due to 9 years passed since I left the UAE? So I can get a job offer and support my kids and if my financial situation improves in the future I will try to settle the loan. This 6-month absentia imprisonment was issued 6 months ago.

Settlement of a loan to avoid criminal and civil actions

1
Q: Hi.
I got a loan of 30,000 from a finance company. I was paying my monthly EMI. After that, I lost my job and I wasn't able to pay.
Then I got another job. My employer applied for a visa but my name got a match with a guy who is blacklisted in the UAE.
After many attempts, I got the visa but I did not get my Emirates ID. Due to expired ID, my sim got blocked and I was not in contact with the finance company.
Even to date, I don't have an ID. Before a few months, the finance company put a case on me and I was unaware about that and I have no idea that there is running a case on me.
In my absence, the court gave a judgement of 5 months in prison. I'm still in the UAE. A few days ago, I was travelling from Sharjah to Oman and they arrested me at Sharjah airport.
I am on bail now. My next date in court will be in next week. I want to know is there any solution to avoid prison or convert prison to fine?

كيف أحل المشكلة؟ أرسل لمندوب البنك لكن لا يرد. وهل يتم حظر السفر لكل البلدان أم الإمارات فقط؟
أنا حاليًا في الأردن.
شكرًا!

Bank filed a civil case over a loan: Better to settle with the bank or in court? 0
Good day, Sir,
I have received a message from the Dubai Court stating that a bank has filed a civil case against me. The loan has been pending since February 2019.
I cleared the cheque bounce case earlier with a court fine in 2019. I am looking forward to a minimum settlement plan with the bank. The outstanding amount was around 70,000 AED, and now the message is for 115,000 AED.
What will be the best way for me to proceed: approaching the bank or dealing with it in court?
Best regards,

Is it legal for my employer to withhold my salary until I leave the country or change status? 0
Hello,
I have given my notice, and my last day is July 24, but the employer is refusing to pay my salary; even the salary for June. Is this even legal?
He claims I'll get everything at once, which is after leaving the country or changing status.

Demanding that an employee pay for visa charges a year after resigning 0
Dear Lawyers,
I worked at a bakeshop here in Dubai. I resigned exactly one year ago. Now they want me to pay for visa charges, as stated in the offer letter.
If I cannot pay for the charges, my employer will claim financial loss due to the damages, estimated to be at least 7,000 AED.
What should I do about this? My monthly salary is only 2,800 AED.
