The implications of missing the date specified on a promissory note

Hi,

Do you have the latest update on the promissory note as per UAE law?

I searched in Google and found the latest update as of 2017. What are the latest changes and charges related to the promissory note?

What are the implications if the client does not abide by the date specified on the promissory note?

The law and regulations in regard to the Promissory Note in UAE are as per the Geneva Convention and all the details are mentioned in Federal Law no. 18 of 1993 (Commercial Transaction Law).

If the client does not abide by the said promissory note, as per the law, then on the maturity date, the drawee/promisee can provide a legal notice and open a civil case for the claimed amount as per the law.

However, the case should be filed immediately from the date of maturity.
