Q: I have a car video recorder that keeps recording traffic keeping a history of the last 4 hours… A: UAE has no law that prohibits using dashboard cameras or even a phone for recording a video from your car… Recorded videos can be used as evidence to the police, court or insurance companies.

UAE has no law that prohibits using dashboard cameras or even a phone for recording a video from your car, if they are placed to monitor traffic violations. But sharing such videos in social networking sites is illegal due to privacy laws, to not breach the privacy of road users.

Recorded videos can be used as evidence to the police, court or insurance companies.
