The liability of canceling or renewing a residency visa

Dear Mr. Al Banna,

Hope this finds you in great health and cheer.

My residency visa expired on 13.11.2019 because the company was not willing to renew nor cancel my visa.

Can I know who is liable in this case? what would the outcome be?

Thank you!

There will be no fines for 3 months for all expired visas.

Also, the UAE made a major announcement about extending the validity of all residency visas, entry permits, and Emirates IDs until the end of 2020.

A top official has now said that the process will be automatic. This means that you won't have to renew your documents if they expired after March 1, 2020. The validity is automatically extended until December 31, 2020.

Hi,

Thank you for your kind reply.

My visa expired on 13.11.2019 so the fees are waived?

How can I renew or cancel my visa?

It is difficult to live in the UAE without a valid visa. Banks, telecom operators, and all official institutions require it.

There will not be any fines for 3 months. You will be able to renew once the lockdown is lifted and government authorities start work in standard mode.
