If a cheque is issued without any date, does it imply that the beneficiary can add the favourable date on behalf of the issuer?

Yes, if the cheque is signed without a date and delivered to the holder, it means that you have given him power of attorney to fill in the contents of the cheque in accordance with the agreements made.
If you claim that the content of the cheque was written against the agreement, you must provide evidence.
