Forcing employees to go to the office during COVID-19 pandemic

Regarding the Coronavirus issue,

My employer still wants us to go to the office and they said we have to make our own means of transportation. Our company is manufacturing valves. Are we still allowed to go to work because 80% of the companies are already working from home?

Dear questioner,

As per the new procedures in the UAE and the new rules from the MHRE, the companies have the right to let their employees work not more than 30 % of the total employees.

Thanks!

Dear questioner,

It depends on the authority's procedures and measures. If you are working for a Freezone company, you have to check with that Freezone authority if they allow the companies registered with them to operate during this period.

For example, DMCC requested all companies registered under this Freezone to work from home.

Dear questioner,

Check with the local authorities, especially the one which issued your company license regarding the regulation for working on the company premises.
