Employer's right to ask the employee for visa expenses after termination

Good Day

I received a termination last week.

Now my employer is asking me to pay him visa expenses and insurance expenses since my Emirates ID came out after begging only this month.

I started working for the company in October. Since they are the ones who terminated me due to performance, should I pay for the visa?

Hello,

Generally, an employer does not have the legal right to force an employee to pay for visa and insurance expenses.

These are requirements that the employer has to provide to the employee.

Should you require further tailored substantive legal advice, kindly contact my firm by phone or email.

Regards,

The thing now is they want me to pay the money before the 31 of January and they refused to give me the salary that I worked for before the termination.

I am now afraid because the HR told me that I have to pay or the owner of the shop will take my passport to the immigration as absconding.

So my question is, how do I approach this situation?
