How to analyse the authenticity of a job offer

I received an offer letter from a university in Dubai in 21.10.2019 asking me to join in November 2019. They also asked me to pay my work permit cost which they will reimburse letter.

No interview was conducted and the mail says they took my CV from naukri.com and checked my educational qualifications and did background verification.

Can I accept the offer?

Dear Questioner,

Thanks for writing to me.

After reading your concern, I feel that the said offer is not genuine. Please note that no genuine employer will ask for the employment visa cost.

Please note that the cost of recruitment of an employee should be borne by the employer as per Article 6(a) of the Ministerial Order No. 52 of 1989 pertaining to rules and procedures to be adopted at the labour permit sections with respect to the recruitment of non-national labour for employment in the UAE, which states:

"An undertaking from the employer to the effect that he shall sponsor and be responsible for the recruited employee, the bearing of his recruitment expenses and his employment in accordance with the employment contract in a way not prejudicing the provision of the Federal Law No. 8 of 1980 referred to herein."

I would recommend you to accept the offer but do not pay any money to the recruiters.

Hope the above explanation is satisfactory.

Regards,

Rajasree Ravivarma
