The consequences of resignation during probation in limited term contracts

I am working in a clinic in Abu Dhabi only for one month after joining. But I am not happy with that job. Now I am in the probation period on a limited contract.

If I resign, what are the complications?

Should I pay compensation?

Dear questioner,

Thanks for writing to me!

From the above short description, I understand that you are undergoing a probation period and want to terminate the fixed-term contract.

Regarding the query, please note Article 116 of the Labour Law, which states:

"Where a contract is revoked by the worker for reasons other than those specified in article (121), he shall be required to compensate the employer for any prejudice the latter sustains as a result; provided that the amount of compensation shall not exceed half the worker's remuneration for three months or the residual period of the contract whichever is shorter unless the contract contains a provision to the contrary."

As per the above, you are liable to compensate the employer to a limit of your 45 days salary. Hope the above description is satisfactory.

Thank You!
