The procedure of serving foreign summon to a UAE resident
Does the Dubai law permit foreign legal process to be served by hand or by post to an individual's address in Dubai?
I need a written legal opinion by a Dubai lawyer as to this to satisfy a UK court.

Dear Questioner,
I am happy to assist you in this matter, please contact me directly by email to discuss with you the legal opinion in further detail.

Dear Sir/ Madam,
Thank you for reaching out to me on this.
Firstly, I would like to state that the UAE Civil Procedure Law No. 11 of 1992 lays down provision for serving the summons to individuals/foreigners for cases which are instituted in the UAE.
Further, it lays down the manner in which a foreign judgement is enforced in the UAE.
However, your query pertains to serving of foreign summons (assuming the case is still going on) upon an individual in the UAE, this will be covered by the foreign country's Civil Procedure Code.
Having said that, the UAE has entered into bilateral treaties with various countries for serving summons and writs upon individuals, the majority of them require it to be served through diplomatic channels i.e. through embassies.
I will need a better understanding from you regarding the requirement and the end result that you are expecting out of the written opinion.
Once I get a broader view, I can advise you and potentially assist you in the opinion.
Kindly get in touch with me on email or phone for further discussion and clarification. I would be happy to assist you if you find it suitable.
I trust you will find the above helpful.
Regards,
Hari Wadhwana
