Vacating a tenant upon the expiry of tenancy contract

Good Morning

The tenancy contract expired on 31st of July 2019 and the tenant informed my agent that he wishes to leave on the expiry of the contract.

However, he is still living in my apartment and refusing to vacate or renew the contract. Dubai Land Department advised me to serve him a 30 days notice by the notary public.

How much will be the cost of such a notice? I am based in the UK.

Regards,

M. Z.

Dear Questioner,

Pursuant to your query, the 30 days notice by the Notary Public is just a legal notice.

This notice has no enforceability to make the tenant vacate the apartment. So, the normal procedure is to file a case to vacate the apartment.

By the way, the cost of the notice by Notary Public with the notification is around AED 500 and it is without any fees for the law firm.

Please feel free to contact me on phone or email for further assistance and clarification.

Regards
