The procedure of settling a criminal case to return to Dubai

I have a police complaint filed against me. I'm out of the country. Somebody contracted me to process Europe Citizenship for him and his family.

However, I left the country during the process and couldn't return due to circumstances beyond my control. Now, I want to come back to Dubai to continue my business.

I have tried everything possible to sort the issue out with the complainant but he is refusing to accept negotiations with me. Now, I want to come back to Dubai with his amount of AED 30.000 in hands.

As I will be arrested at the airport, will I be discharged immediately if I pay the money to the police or I will serve a jail term?

The case has not been transferred yet to the public prosecution.

Dear Questioner,

Regarding your question, you have to deal with your matter in a different way, not on your way.

First, you have to know what is your case number, and what is the last update. Every stage and level for your case will need a different procedure.

For example, what if your verdict has jail+deportation, so it means that you may lose the money and you will be deported!!

So you are advised to check your case and the last update, then I will tell you what you have to do.

Kindly send me the complaint number, and which police station.

In case the file is still in police, it means your case is under investigation and if you come to Dubai they will arrest you until they collect your statement.

Then, maybe they will release you after holding your passport, otherwise, you will be detained until they finish the investigation and send your file to the court.

But you have to request now from the public persecution to transfer the file from police to court. Then you can deposit the money in the court if it’s only a matter of money.

But if the charges include the public right it will be a big issue, you have to fight your case.
