Can landlord sell the property without notifying the tenant?
We rent an apartment in Abu Dhabi. This month we renewed our contract for the next year.
We have signed the cheques to the real estate agency since they are the owners of this property. But a week after the other agents came to our apartment and said that the apartment is on sale and we have to let them in so that they could take pictures.
Can the landlord sell this apartment without prior notice to the tenant and will this affects our tenancy contract?

Dear Sir/ Madam,
I hope you are doing well. With regard to your question whether the Landlord may sell the property without notifying you.
In fact law No. 20/2006 and its amendments have not covered this point, however practically, the tenant contract with the landlord allows the Tenant only to utilize the benefit of the Property as such the landlord may sell his property if he so wishes without the requirement to notify the tenant.
However, in accordance to Art. 20 item 3 of the amendment law No. 4 /2010 stipulates that if the Landlord wishes to evict the tenant then he has to notify him 2 months prior to the expiry of the tenancy term in the residential properties and a 3 months notice prior to the expiry of commercial properties.
