If I come to Dubai to search for work, will there be a travel ban to exit from the UAE? How can I extend my stay in Dubai as I will enter the UAE on a  visit visa? Can a settlement be through the insurance company as I was terminated by the company? As of now, there's almost no chance to get any work in the UAE. Hence I am bankrupt. What I can do in such a case? Will I be able to work in the UAE and get a work visa if a case is registered?

Q: Hi , I left UAE during the financial crisis 2009 because I got laid back by my employer and I could not pay back my bank loan. The bank collection agents contacted me few times but I couldn't reach an agreement with them as I am facing financial difficulties as a single parent for 2 kids currently not working. l want to go back to the UAE for a job offer. I need help finding out if the bank has raised a case against me and what is my current status and legal options to be able to work in the UAE.

Q: I have a loan from a bank of AED 190000. It's been a year. I lost my job in the month of October 2018. Till March 2019, I was paying EMI. Starting this month, I am not in a position to pay. I went to the debt collection dept to reduce my EMI, but they're asking for an offer letter from the new company to reduce my EMI. What is ur advice on this? Note: I missed one month EMI last Dec 2017.

Q: What happens if a criminal case for bounced cheques for AED 506,000.00 is given, in which AED 485,000.00 is paid back? Only 21,000 is remaining. Is there any jail term or fine? If so, what will the fine be?

Q: I have a bounced cheque police case (AED 203,000) on my name. I want to apply for an employment visa but I don't know if this will be approved. I have spoken to my bank and they told me they are considering dropping the case if I pay a downpayment of AED 16-20k. I cannot pay this amount now. I can pay after the employment visa is stamped. I don't know if there is a travel ban on my name. Which one restricts me from applying for the visa; the travel ban or the police case? Also, am I allowed to work without a visa to come up with the amount to clear the dues? I don't have anyone to borrow from. I don't want to leave the country. I want to settle my dues and legalize my status. There are war and political instability in my country and I have been here since 1992 with no legal issues. With the police case, is someone going to come to arrest me?

Q: Hi, There was a cheque bounce case against me due to non-payment of credit card dues. After that, I made full payment, and the bank provided a clearance letter. Now, I need to know whether the case is also closed? If not, then what do I need to do to clear the case?

This Law promulgates the Federal Penal Code (Criminal Law) of the United Arab Emirates. Crimes and chastisement punishments shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of this Law and other penal codes.

This Law applies to merchants, as well as to all acts of commerce carried out in the UAE by any person even though he be not a trader. Commercial matters regarding which specific Federal laws are issued shall be subject to the provisions of such laws, and to the provisions hereof which do not contradict with said laws.

The provisions of this law, promulgating UAE Civil Code, govern the civil transactions in the United Arab Emirates. The commercial transactions remain subject to the laws and regulations applicable in their regard.

The provisions of this Decree by Law amend the Federal Law No. (18) of 1993 by replacing Clause (4) of Article (379) as well as Articles (600), (617), (641), (642), (643), (644), and adding new articles numbered (635) Bis, (641) Bis (1), (641) Bis (2), (641) Bis (3), (641) Bis (4), (643) Bis (1), (643) Bis (2), (644) Bis (1) and (644) Bis (2). The Decree-Law also repeals Articles (401), (402) and (403) of the Federal Law No. (3) of 1987.
