The requirements and procedures of a startup in Bahrain
Hi,
We are a young startup out of Mumbai, India.
We are currently in the process of taking our B2B SaaS product overseas and are starting to explore different countries.
What should be our next steps if we want to start operations in Bahrain?
Also, what are the legal requirements for setting up Bahrain operations?

Can you please provide us with full activities of the company in order to check the availability of foreign ownership and requirements?
You may send us full details on info@alhaddadlaw.com

Hi,
In order to provide you with appropriate details, we need to check the business activity which you want to practise in Bahrain since all the activities are not open to foreign investors.
Therefore, kindly share further details so that we can guide you appropriately.

Hello,
Great to hear about your expansion plans!
Bahrain is a wonderful market, especially for FinTech products. The Kingdom and the wider Middle East region as a whole is rapidly adopting new age technologies and practices.
In order for you to do business in the Kingdom of Bahrain, you may be required to set up a local entity in Bahrain (depending on the activities) and comply with the local laws and regulations of the country.
With regard to the type of entity that might need to be incorporated, various considerations are required to be made.
Some of the key considerations which would determine the type of entity (if required), it's shareholding, required regulatory approvals, IP registrations...etc, are:
1. The intended activities to be performed in Bahrain or with the Bahraini market; and
2. The nationality of the intended shareholders.
In order for us to guide you further about the best approach to expand into the Bahraini market more information, such as those listed above, are required.
Please feel free to get in touch at s.shaji@hraklf.com if you would like to discuss further.
All the best!
