Travel ban across the Middle east for unpaid debts in the UAE
Due to a period of unemployment, I have been unable to clear my three credit card balances with banks in the UAE (around AED100,000 in total when I was unable to continue repayments).
I am currently residing outside of the Middle East. A legal agent acting for one of the banks has sent me an email with the line: 'We are here advising you not to travel across the Middle East until the account is settled in full final.'
Can someone please advise if the above is more than just a threat. What are the consequences if I were to accept employment in a Middle Eastern country other than the UAE?

If you didn't pay the credit card, most probably, the bank opened a criminal case against you and your name will appear on the UAE blacklist.
The Bank has the option the open Interpol case against you, and in this situation, you can be arrested even if you are outside the UAE.
I would suggest you check your cases in the UAE, and in case there is a fine imposed against you, to pay the fine and release your name from the blacklist.
