Maintenance in a divorce case before the first court

I have a divorce case in Dubai Court. My wife was the one who filed for it.

The first judge decision was 10300 monthly my salary is 29500. I have debts which I submitted in the first court and now the same debts in the appeal.

My question is in the appeal, how much approximately they may increase or decrease?

By the way, they didn't give here maid allowance and they didn't decide about the schools.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for getting in touch with me on this.

I understand your position as your liabilities are more than your salary and this judgement may not work out for you.

I strongly urge that you appeal against the first court judgement as the appeal court may appreciate the facts and documentation in a better manner.

There is no straight jacket formula that the maintenance will increase or decrease, but you should file an appeal as you are not left with any choice.

Further, only if your wife files an appeal the amount may increase, otherwise, the court will reduce the amount or reject the case in your appeal.

You can get in touch with me on 052-9495731 or email for further discussion and clarifications.

I trust you will find this helpful.

Regards,

Hari Wadhwana
