If I were found guilty of a misdemeanor, will my application for a police clearance certificate get rejected?
Hello Sir,
If I were found guilty of a misdemeanor, I would pay the fines.
Would that be the reason for the rejection of my application for a police clearance certificate?
And if it is, how do I go about it?
Hi,
If you were found guilty of a misdemeanor and paid all fines, this can initially affect your Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) application.
However, once the judgment is fully satisfied and your case is closed in the police system, you should be eligible to apply.
You may need a rehabilitation certificate from the court stating your sentence is complete and you are rehabilitated.
Sometimes, the police system needs manual updating to reflect this before issuing the PCC.
If your PCC is rejected, visit the CID or Public Prosecution office with your judgment and payment proof to clear your record in their system.
Let me know if you want help obtaining the rehabilitation certificate or follow up with the authorities.
Best regards.
