The new regulations regarding bounced cheque cases
Is it correct that cheque cases today are no longer treated as criminal and are dealt with a fine according to cheque value?

Dear Questioner,
All bounced cheque cases are filed at the police station, so they are treated as criminal cases.
Based on the new regulation, for the cases filed in the last 1 year and a half, there are 2 options:
If the amount is less than AED 200,000 there will be a fine imposed on that person and his name will be on the blacklist (unless he pays the fine), and jail for cases with value more than AED 200,000.
