Questions & Answers
I settled and paid my debt in Dubai Courts but the travel ban is still acitve after one week. How to lift it?
Hi
I have a question.
Last week, I settled my debt under the Amicable Settlement Center in Dubai Courts. The plaintiff acknowledged the receipt of the total payment from me.
However, it was also stipulated in the amicable settlement that the plaintiff needed to make sure the travel ban against me had to be cancelled immediately.
However, now one week later, he still hasn’t lifted the travel ban and isn’t responding to my call/message.
As I need to travel, I would like to know:
1. What can I do myself and how?
2. Is there any way I can make sure he honours his part of the settlement with urgency, as I need to travel next week?
Please advise.
Thank you
Hello dear.
Based on the acknowledgment he made that he received his money, we can file a request with the court proving payment of the debt and requesting the lifting of the travel ban.
We do not need to wait for the other person to discuss further.

Hello,
If you have a notarised or court-endorsed settlement agreement that explicitly states the plaintiff must lift the travel ban immediately, you can file a request with the judge at the Dubai Courts to enforce that specific term of the settlement.
This is done by submitting the agreement with your application and asking the court to issue an order to the relevant authority to cancel the travel ban without delay.
Since you need to travel next week, I recommend preparing this enforcement request urgently, attaching a copy of the amicable settlement document, proof of payment, and any correspondence showing your attempts to follow up with the plaintiff.
If you share your case details with me on the phone, I can guide you precisely on which department to approach and the exact wording to use in your application so the court treats it as urgent.

Under the settlement, you can submit a request to lift the travel ban.
